Villa Santos-Dumont

As some kind of prolongation of Rue Santos-Dumont, the photo on the left, – where Georges Brassens spent his last years (see previous posts), there is a little alley, called Villa Santos-Dumont. The about 25 buildings date from the 1920’s and numerous artists have lived here, like for example Ossip Zadkine and Fernand Léger (before moving elsewhere). I met a nice old lady who had been living here since the 1930’s, then newly married.

(Yes, I took these photos a couple of weeks ago – the flowers may now have partly faded.)

Funny, was walking in that neighborhood not too long ago... too bad we missed Brassens. Do you think he would have had a blog, or been on Facebook ?

Owen, I seriously doubt Georges would have spent any time at all on FB :-)
Peter, what a wonderful street. I had no idea it was there. It's hard to believe such places still exist in modern Paris. And yet... I am making a note to swing by next time I am in town. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

This is such a beautiful street. It looks so welcoming with all the plants and trees and children's toys.

Very charming place with so many "green plants"and vases of flowers around the entrance of the houses. I also like the windows!
The coblestone is also beautiful!
I wish you a nice week dear Peter,

C'est peut-être là que les dirigeables de Santos Dumont ont été fabriqués.

So charming and inviting!

Sorry for my absence, Peter, I've been busy with the exhibition, I've had a lot of people visiting it and I've been with them.

J'adore ce genres de petites rues et ruelles de Paris. Des petits coins de paradis dans la grande ville.
