Another little alley

Another little alley (Rue Odinot), this time in a quite fashionable area, surrounded by old private mansions, “hotels particuliers”, a ministry…
However some decades ago, the alley was a place with workshops of different kinds. Today, if you want to live there, you should calculate with a price of 15.000-20.000 € / m2 (or roughly 2.000-2.500 US$/sq.ft).

The gate is often open during the week as there is a school at the end of the alley.
Did I find the last fresh looking rose of the year?

Paris is such a gold mine of wonderful places like this... just a shame that you have to own a gold mine to be able to live there...

Good to see you are out and about, even as the days grow shorter and shorter, shortest day coming soon...

And wow, you've been blogging up a storm, was just catching up on your copious recent postings... have been too busy working to get out as much as I'd like around the blogs, but always a pleasure to drop in here and see what you've been up to... !

Peter, that really is quite a lovely neighborhood. But your rose wins the prize - the photo is fabulous!

Un quartier privilégié à n'en pas douter. Quel charme !

Excellent find! These look really quite ancient too, which is quite surprising in that area - an old farm or 'village' on the outskirts of Paris perhaps?

Great photos. I love these alleys, it's like a small village within Paris. One can only dream of a place like this.

Les classes moyennes ont de + en + mal à se loger dans Paris.

I had no idea that such a place existed. It's like living in a small village house in the middle of a world capital. What charming entrances.

Effectivement cela semble fort agreable!

You do get around. There isn't much available in Paris that isn't way over-priced.

There is a program on television that shows people buying homes in other countries. Sometimes I get to see homes in France. The last one was in the country about 30 minutes northwest of Paris. It had been an old 3-story schoolhouse and was made into a home.

Awesome find! Who knew? These little slices of heaven are right up your alley, Peter. {Falls on floor laughing uproariously at his own joke for 6-7 minutes.}
