Christmas show windows again

Since 2009 I have taken photos of the Christmas show windows of the department stores Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. Here you can see what they look like this year. (Click here to compare with the years 2009-2012.)

First Printemps. Most of the windows are perhaps more devoted to luxury fashion than being children-friendly. The top picture is however from Printemps. The exterior with its towers is really specatcular.

There are a few more children-friendly windows at Galeries Lafayette. The exterior decoration (perhaps more spectacular previous years) was changed already last year. What espeically, as usual, draws the attention is the giant christmas tree under the cupola.

Thank you so much, Peter! This is one joy of Paris I miss very much, so it is wonderful to see the holiday windows through your photography. I appreciate it a lot. This year it is so charming and child-friendly! I remember 2011 (the last year I saw the windows in Paris) was the Rock 'n' Roll theme with Iggy Pop. Not as cute as this, lol. I also love the "Steampunk" theme of the Galeries Lafayette fashions. The tree is delightful, too!

Hugs from Denver and thank you, once more. You made me smile a lot with this presentation. :-)

These windows, and others like them, are the reason Christmas is my favorite time of year. Thanks for the great photos!

Beaucoup de "mode" cette année. Prada a remplacé Dior au Printemps. Personnellement, je préfère les vitrines des Galeries, steampunk ou non.

This is so much fun to see from afar. I would love to be able to be in Paris during the Holiday season for all the festivities. At least this way I can see it through your lens. When I was a child we could go to Marshall Fields in Chicago to see such beautiful window displays. I miss them so much and am delighted to see them here. Merci beaucoup, dear Peter.

I wait all year for this post! These are beautiful in every way. Oh, how I miss Christmas windows. Our city USED to have downtown department stores, till the malls came around and when I was a child and young adult, I was always captivated by the windows. I always thought that would be a wonderful thing to create. We don't see them like that now here, so visiting your "windows" each year has almost become a holiday tradition for me, as important as presents and celebration! I especially love the children's windows, but both are quite wonderful. And that tree within... wow!

A friend in Paris told me that Galleries Lafayette has bought BHV. I wonder how it will change.
