Flower market

On Ile de la Cité, in between Hôtel Dieu (see previous post), Notre Dame (see previous posts), the Palais de la Justice (see previous post) with the Sainte Chapelle (see previous post) you can find a Flower Market (Marché des Fleurs) which has been there since 1808.
One can of course find a lot of flowers and garden equipment / decoration. On Sundays, there is a “bird market”. I must go back!

You must be taking a long weekend to smell the roses....

Love that photo of all the hydrangeas - they are one of my favorite flowers.

Ta balade au marché aux fleurs me donne envie...
Je vois aussi que tu commences à devenir célèbre sur les murs de la capitale.

It was about a year ago this week that I landed in Paris, and my first visit, my first day, was to Notre Dame and to the Marche aux Fleurs. It was in my regular "path" and I passed by often, always with a smile, a stop to sniff a lovely bloom or take a photo. (I did those seed packets, too. Just loved the graphics!)

As always when I visit, your posts bring back splendid memories, but perhaps no more so than this one.

Beautiful. One thing I missed on my last visit was the flowers. I went too early in the year.

As always you bring back my memories of childhood. My mother took me often to the bird and flower markets on Sunday mornings – it was always such a treat.
