To be recommended?

It’s not in my habits to recommend hotels. I never stayed in this one, I have no commission… , but considering the looks and where it’s to be found, I believe I would try it if I were a visitor to Paris.

Completely calm in a passage to be found behind a gate at Rue-du-Cardinal-Lemoine, close to the Panthéon, to Rue-Mouffetard, and with the feeling that people like Descartes, Hemingway (see previous post), James Joyce… used to live and work in the immediate neighbourhood...

So, if you feel that you would like to book, here is the address. If you do try it, please tell if you were pleased.

It looks like a very nice place, but i would never again book a hotel as long as I can book an apartment!

I have stayed there three times and highly recommend it, especially if you can get a room in the main building. If the same family runs it, they are very nice and take great care of the place. And as you point out, the neighborhood is great.

Lovely images! My favorite is the huge door open with the bike on the background! :)

In Hemingway's building, my friend Tony rents out an apartment:

You're right -- it's very beautiful. I suspect my next Paris trip will either be a hotel or apartment rental. I suspect I can't afford this one, but I might check it out just for fun someday!

It is a lovely hotel and the price seems reasonable for being in a wonderful district.

Bonjour Peter. I have students who have stayed at l'Hôtel des Grandes Ecoles for years and love it. Prices have gone up a bit in recent years, but their ratings on the online travel sites are still excellent. Rooms sell out quickly, however! Your photos show the property off beautifully. This hotel looks like a great place to stay. Last time we rented a studio in the Marais and it was very advantageous, but sometimes just for one or two nights a hotel is best. I have looked at all your great pictures of Italy – you had a wonderful vacation.

One of hotels we stay in when we drive into Paris. Well worth going to, clean, quaint, quiet. Do not hestitate to book.

I'd choose this hotel in a heartbeat!!

Who wants the upkeep of an apartment when traveling to that city...of all places???

Luv, luv that shade of pink on the façade...

Thanks, Peter.
