Urban art, street art, graffiti, tags...

Whether what I show here should be classified as urban art, street art, graffiti, tags... is open to discussion. These are some examples that I have recently found, mainly in the north-eastern part of Paris. Most of this is done by artists unknown to me, although a few items by Dacruz, Mesnager, Mosko, Jeff Aerosol... are there. (You may also refer to some previous posts about "urban art" and "graffiti".)
Some of you may feel that this shouldn't be. Well, if you see on which kind of walls this has been done, it may definitely be acceptable, the only worry may even be that a lot of this will soon be gone, being on walls which will not last for long. What can be regretted in my mind is that some of the works have been tagged on top by others.
Since some time it seems to be a fashion to decorate the delivery vans, especially those which deliver the open or covered market places. These trucks are of course more easily accesible for "decoration" than trains, metro cars... It seems that most of this is made in agreement with the van owners, but this may sometimes be questionable.

Bonjour, mon cher ami Peter!
I like a lot the idea about those trucks.
Thanks so much for your always kind comments in our blog. You need to come here to visit us some day, it would be fabulous!
Hugs

I can say, without any authority whatsoever, that most of this would look better than most of the modern stuff hanging in museums today.

Yes Urban Art --- The first photo certainly grabs your attention -- I actually like it -- one could blow up the photo to a desired size --frame it and hang it up in the home -- or take several and frame them up and make a mural --just musing --
When those walls come down your photo's will be a documented piece of Urban Art for historic preservation.

Thanks for the compliment it was well received and made my day, merci
JOanny

This is pretty cool! I remember seeing a lot of this in paris and being very impressed by it. Not the standard graffiti of Ohio to be sure!

While I think the artists are very talented, I wonder what Monet, Renoir, Gauguin or Matisse would have thought of it.

This is a very impressive collection of photographs of urban art/graffiti in Paris.

When I see these photo collections of yours, I really wonder how you keep all of your photography organized! It must be impressive, too. :)

J'aime bien, moi.

I think the spray paint manufacturers must be making a killing. I hope the artists recycle their paint containers responsibly!

:-)))))))))))))))))))

Hey Peter! Fabulous reporting job, one gets the impression that all you do is walk or ride around Paris ! Tough work, but someone has to do it... What a rich collection. I think I love the pink bird against a blue sky the most, almost Japanese print sort of thing... But what rich colors all over, I agree with Catherine, some of these could stand alone in larger images, but your collages are always a good time...

Best wishes, hope to see you one day very soon...

Quelle collection !

Bravo !

Peter,
You know my thoughts on tagging. I will refrain from my usual RANT! :)

That looks an awesome place. I'm gonna try to visit it. I'm pretty sure me and my friends are going to love it. Check out the Street art in Manila, you'll love it too. Anyway, Thanks for sharing!
