"Moskowa"

In the 18th arrondissement, along the abandoned circular railway, “La Petite Ceinture” (see previous posts) is an area which is defined as “Moskowa”, referring to a small street and a square with this name.
The area is under “renovation” since a number of years, but is still perhaps not among the “cleanest” areas of Paris. As, often, however, there are some small streets and alleys (Villa des Tulipes, Impasse de Talus, Passage Charles Albert…) with some, at least in my mind, attractive atmosphere.

(Please not that even some old gas lampions are around, of course now electrified.)

There are and have of course been some conflicts between the locals and the authorities about which development the area should take. Some of the “leaders” to defend the spirit of the area have been the urban or street artists (see previous posts about urban art and graffiti), especially “Mosko et associés” who started a campaign 20 years ago. Today, I hardly found any traces of their art, except some modest souvenirs left after a recent 20 year celebration. I added a typical giraffe by “Mosko et associés”, found elsewhere in the city.

I wonder if there are many people out there who know every nook and cranny of Paris as well as you do... always a pleasure to come along for your guided tours...

It looks like a cozy residential area.
Is it an area for foreigners? Is it a nice area to live?
I like all the green around.

Another great find Peter. As you may have noticed, I haven't been doing much exploring recently for one reason or another, but you are giving me motivation here to get out and about again!

Love the little lanes with the gates. Beautiful little spot you've taken us to today.

The mosaic piece on the bottom looks like some we saw last summer????

Hey Peter, I hope you are doing fine.

I appreciate that each time you introduce a new place, you always show the map of other familiar places so I can gauge where this place is. Thank you :D
