Leena said... WOW! Your trip is wow at first :) And this slideshow too, I have seen those places first time over 47 years ago, when students including me visited there. The second time was about 12 years ago, plenty of things were different as you can imagine :) I am waiting for your posts through Siberia.
Thanks for the clip, Peter. I, too, went to the USSR twice. Some of your images are SO familiar but others would not have been available when I was there...the young girls all lined up...so modern and carefree. Loved the buildings and museums. The Hermitage is REALLY, really big and your photos demonstrate that!
What a wonderful series you've given us Peter. I love seeing your photographs one at a time like this. They are stunning! I had no idea this was just a beautiful place. Welcome home! V
Thank you, Peter. I will probably not get a chance to go to St Petersburg anytime soon. I have thoroughly enjoyed today's visit. I had heard of that city, but to see how beautiful it is in pictures was a real treat. Looks like you have made the most of your trip! Hope to see more pics soon-- Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
Hey, good to see you made it back all in one piece... hope to hear and see a lot more about all your adventures. This first one brings back all sorts of memories, for we went to Leningrad and Moscow when I was little, visited the Aurora and many other sites you've included here. Can't wait to see the train !
Joli partage, merci.

Can you believe after all that 'wishing and hoping' that it is over already!
I like very much the dome of Saint Isaacs. I groan that the padlock infection is rife in Moscow. And the McDonald's sign made me smile.
Welcome back ...
Cela donne envie d'y retourner !
une belle promenade, et la presentation en video est sympathique
Lovely video, Peter!
My favorite photo is of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Is this theatre´s auditorium blue and gold as they say?
I've been away a long while......Hope you had a good trip! Its good to be back here......looking forward to many more brilliant etchings!
