Champs-Elysées - modified illuminations

Last year many people expressed a disappointment about the new “ecological” Christmas illuminations on the Champs-Elysées. Obviously, it was taken into consideration, as there have been some modifications this year; on the trees, garlands have been added to the “hula-hoops”.

Well, I think most of us appreciate this modification. Here you can compare what the illuminations looked like in 2010, before the “hula-hoops” and here what they looked like last year.

In the middle of the avenue – at the “Rond-Point”, the illuminations are quite spectacular…

… and here are some examples of facades along the avenue.

With these photos, I wish especially to thank you all for your support during this 6th year of blogging and as this – probably - will be the last post this year, to wish you all

I'm glad they added more to the trees - the hula hoops just weren't Christmas. Your other photos certainly show off Paris as the City of Lights!
Peter, I have enjoyed your blog all year. I wish you and your family a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year!!!

NON, not the last blog post Peter!!! What will we do???
Wwll your photos from the Champs are great but I fear I must say I long for the lights there that hung from the trees. These I think are too "hip" for my taste. :)

Thank you for your beautiful blog. I adored Paris, the most beautiful city in the world, when we lived in Germany for a few years (Army). Your beautiful pictures, especially this Christmas season have cheered me during a difficult time. Best of health and God bless.

My brother-in-law has been forwarding me your blog for some time now. So today I finally signed up for the email version of it. We love Paris and France a lot. My brother-in-law's web site even has the word France in it.
http;//www.watercolors-ofFrance.com maybe you've seen it.

The last time we were there my wife and I did a mini-study of the Marais District, you can see some of that in a slide show on my web site:

Keep up thev good work.

Paris devrait donc encore mieux faire !
