You may
have understood that I’m rather fascinated by street art. This post is about
some paintings I found during a recent walk at the “Butte aux Cailles”. I
found some more on my way to rue Mouffetard – and around. The complete wall (see
also top picture) was painted last year, another official complete-wall-job of
which we can find a lot in the 13th arrondissement (see e.g. a previous post).
The artist
is signing “Seth”, his real name is Julien Malland. You can read more about him
here.
There are
certainly other works by ”Seth” to be found around e.g. at Belleville / Menilmontant,
but I have to make another walk. In the meantime, here are some photos I already
had from Parc de Belleville.
“Seth” seems
to very active… writing, travelling, painting… Here are some other examples of
his works, from India, Indonesia, Palestine, Senegal, Ukrania, Cambodia, Australia, Brazil,
Peru… France, “stolen” from the net.

I am fascinated by good street artists. In so many way they remind of me of Rick's son Greg -- a young and struggling artist of tremendous talent. He works in chalk -- an ephemeral media to be sure. How I wish he could visit Paris and see your Paris filled with art everywhere. Someday.

Thanks for this post Peter. I took one on Mouffetard and did not know the name of the artist. The top photo from Butte aux Cailles is wonderful. I hope they will leave it up till my next visit!

J'adore ! Je suis une grande fanatique de street art. Lors de mon prochain séjour à Paris il faudra que je passe plus de temps dans le 13eme apparemment !
Il y a pas mal de collages à Montmartre également mais tu as déjà du y faire un tour je pense !
