Previously,
for the less lucky ones who have not managed (or could not afford) to watch, on
the spot, the Roland Garros tennis tournament, there was a possibility to watch
it in front of the Town Hall (see previous post). This year, you can do
it instead on the Champs de Mars, in front of the Eiffel Tower. (The final is played
June 7.)
There are also
some chances to check your tennis ability, including on a real court - where actually some pre-tournament qualifying matches were played.
You can of
course do some shopping, picnic…
A special
feature, which unfortunately would be in operation only the day after my
passage, gives you a chance to consume a bottle of Perrier, way up in the air.

Bonjour cher Peter,
Je ne savais pas qu'on avait fait un tel aménagement !... Je suis une provinciale !!...
Une bien belle manière de partager en plein air l'amour de ce sport.
Merci pour ces belles photos !
❁ ♡ Gros bisous ♡ ❁
Je suis sans suivre.
Incroyable!
Je suis bien à la maison! :-)
Unforgettable!!
1979 French Open final.
Sweden's Bjorn Borg versus Paraguay's Victor Pecci.
The invincible Borg here facing one of his toughest opponents.
Pecci did finally beat him in 1981 in Monte Carlo.
In Paraguay, many years later, in 2009, I saw Bjorn Borg again, playing at my club.
With whom you would ask? It was, of course with his great friend Victor Pecci.
M. Borg, still looking great despite his white hair.....
Thank you so much for this beautiful post.

I am not a tennis fan but I have to say I would love to be enjoying it on the Champs de Mars!
What an extravaganza! Wonderful photos, Peter. Sorry you missed out on the high-flying Perrier :)
