...and once more - street art.

It was a Friday afternoon and I was not alone at Gare du Nord (see previous post).

I was heading for quay 36, but was not going to take the train, as some others who were desperately running.

I went there to see some street art, which has been created the last couple of days, along a wall which represents the end of the railway station, the last quay, no. 36.

This is an official project, under the name “Quai 36 – Art Residence”.

Among the artists I could recognise Jérome Mesnager, Artiste Ouvirer, Janaundjs (top picture)…

Street art is getting more and more “official”. The same day I went to see an exhibition at the “Credit Municipal de Paris” (I wrote about this old institution, which also acts as a pawn shop, here and here). The previously “private” courtyard, where we can see a tower of the Philppe-Auguste Wall (see previous posts) is now open to public and an art gallery is installed, at present with a street art exhibition, which will be followed up by a charity auction (in the institution auction room), June 8.

We find again art by Jérome Mesnager and Artiste Ouvrier and also by MissTic, Mosko, Space Invader…

That top picture is fabulous!
I love everything in group of photographs #7...the interior cour with the fountain, the chairs and that cool looking auditorium.

And as usual, the work of M. Mesnager is the best!!

Thank you, M. Peter.

Amusant car à force d’en voir on finit par pouvoir nommer ces artistes qui ont plus pignon sur rue à Paris qu’à Toulouse, peut-être n’y viennent-ils pas non plus…

How fun that Gare du Nord has been decorated with street art!
I'm always a bit confused when there are street art exhibitions in galleries - is it really street art anymore, when it's no longer on the street? Maybe we should call it "urban art" in English as well!
