In my latest post I said that I will refer with a post about the Christmas Market on the Champs Elysées.
Christmas Markets was more a tradition in the eastern parts of France, influenced by the German ones, but there are a few also in Paris. Since three years, the biggest of them can be found on the Champs Elysées, extending from the Rond Point to Place de la Concorde.
I tried to take photos of what may be considered as traditional Christmas Market stands, but there are also a number of just commercial stands, selling anything.
There is of course a possibility to eat and drink, including the Vin Chaud (Glühwein, Glögg, Hot Mulled Wine…), which considering the present and expected low temperatures is quite appropriate.
There are also some installations for the kids.
I wish you a nice weekend!

Great capture of the scene and I cannot wait to take it all in! Sounds like it is a bit frigid in Paris right now and maybe some snow!
these look wonderful - great photos and what a wonderful place to shop for presents!! Greetings from Mexico
Thank you Peter - I love Paris at Christmas time, but haven't seen those markets.
The lights and Christmas decorations are superb but my most favourite are the flower shops - I wanted to buy everything and the perfume was WOW!!!!
The magical windows at Galeries Lafayette - and the little children trying to peep through the huge crowds... I love it all.
Thank you!
hugs
Shane
Lovely!
It's so bright and colorful and "Christmasy"-looking! Thank you, Peter. At this time of year, we all need brightness and color! Keep warm.
Celebration time, around the corner!
Brilliant pictures! Do have a great weekend!
I love the picture of the glace fruits! and the stuff you could get for christmas - decor and presents!! Thanks Peter and have a good weekend.
There are Christmas markets all over the country now.
Glitter and bling bling, great. I think I should go to Stockmann and take some photos, too. I've heard their Christmas market is worth seeing.
We've had snow in Helsinki, 15 cm and it's now -12 degrees. Freezing!
Have a nice wewkend, Peter.
Oh Peter, I'm so enjoying your wonderful seasonal posts. I've only been to Paris in Spring and Summer, but would love it to visit in the winter. I love these fabulous glimpses of a Parisian winter I want to experience sometime.
Thank you Peter for this great reportage!I'm keen on to taste the vin chaud!
Hugs

Oh, how festive! What fun it would be to grab some glühwein and browse...
That is quite a French-looking Santa Claus, I wonder if it's the glasses or the seriousness of his regard?
Going tonight! Merci Peter

I hate shopping; but this, this is a beautiful discovery walk. Thanks.
Some of the Christmas markets are open now in New York with a few to open in the next few days, I cannot imagine that they could hold a candle to to walking a Christmas market in Paris!
Must be fun to stroll through this but I'm a bit disappointed that these Xmas market chalets are exactly the same all over France. Ours here look exactly the same.
Your photos are full of life and energy. Thank you for sharing.
Globalization everywhere! Who could imagine Glüwein in Paris? ;)
You always have the best pictures!
Hier, j'ai vu à la téloche les illuminations de la Maison d'Alsace, c' est magnifique.
Hello Peter thank you so much for bringing Paris to me and the wonderful market :-)
I dread the crowds there. Maybe I'll just be lazy this year and satisfy myself with your pictures instead!
very colorful, to say the least....nice
I miss the German Christmas Markets - the wonderful and delicious smells, and everyone should experience the magic of a European Christmas Market, at least once. It's fun to decorate the tree and revisit these places, if only inside my heart and mind.
I would love to go! It looks magical! Thank you for sharing :o)
Eu acho seu blog sensacional ! Sei ler em francês e inglês, mas quis me manifestar na minha própria língua.
