Does the sky there really turn that color? It leaves me speechless...

Peter, your photos are like "eye candy" for me, and I am hooked. is the equestrian statue of Jeanne d'Arc?

Heureusement tout ce qui brille n'est pas d'or! Mais c'est beau!

The photo of Place de la Concorde is so beutiful! That is one of my favorite places in Paris beside Jardin de Luxembourg. Your photo makes me wish my return trip was sooner than next spring.

Nice gold Peter. New Orleans has the same Joan of Arc statue as Paris, and it is golden too.

Ahhhh! Look at that. You captured all those gold tones visible in Paris so wonderfully. I'm with the others who are impressed by the light in the last one. Nice work, Peter!

Hope all is well with you!

Quite a study. It made me think of James Bond's Goldfinger, and the woman in it painted in gold, and of Diane Poitier who supposedly drank gold for some reason! Very beautiful to see so many samples of gold collected in one spot! Supposedly still going up in value.

Yup! Sure is alot of gold! And the last photo is amazing -- How do Parisians do that? Do they put gold leaf on the sky or is it 48 carat all the way to the stratosphere!

Hi Peter!you could go to metro : "Porte Dorée"!!(nice Art deco Paul Reynaud 's salon in the museum)I think it's called Porte Dorée(golden) because it was " la porte à l'orée du bois"(at the edge of the wood/threshold of the wood).Congratulations for your blog!Anne

This reminds me of a poem by Thomas Hood

Gold! Gold! Gold! Gold!
Bright and yellow, hard and cold
Molten, graven, hammered and rolled,
Heavy to get and light to hold,
Hoarded, bartered, bought and sold,
Stolen, borrowed, squandered, doled,
Spurned by young, but hung by old
To the verge of a church yard mold;
Price of many a crime untold.

Great shots Peter!

Ouah, tout ce ciel bleu, cette lumière sur les monuments parisiens, c'est trop beau !
Et le ciel qui vire à l'or sur l'obélisque... magique !
Pourvu que ça continue jusqu'à dimanche.

Peter:

All gorgeous, but you got us all on the last photo, charming us as a moth to a flame as the liquid gold makes its way onward filling the sky.
